Old Forrester Birthday Bourbon, single malt, aged 12 years
COLOR: Rich, creamy toffee
NOSE: As rich as the color; like a forest after a spring downpour
BODY: Holy shit. This is one of those bourbons that builds slowly, like an orgasm. First in the tongue, then through the chest, rising up the spine and finally all the way through the fingertips and beyond. Seriously, beyond. I could feel this one beyond my reach. Notes of vanilla, toffee, caramel. A creeper, too…I can still feel it shaking through my fingertips long after the glass is on the table.
FINISH: 3 minutes plus. I wish I had a cigarette, DAMN.
